What did I read (and finish) this week? Look below to find out!
Cherry Boy, That Girl by South Ant (ongoing) ch. 1 – 79 – Cherry Boy, That Girl is about Berry, a formerly obese girl, and her boyfriend Mandarin. When Berry becomes popular at school, she dumps Mandarin, who decides to get back at her by cross-dressing, stealing all her admirers, and making her life hell. However, when she decides she’s permanently done with his scheming and meets a new boy, Walnut, Mandarin goes a bit crazy. It’s not really a cross-dressing manwha, but it’s well written, beautifully drawn, and really interesting. At the end, it dissolves into typical rich kid nonsense, but I still really like it.
Boku Girl by Sugito Akira (2013 to ongoing) ch. 60 and 61 – These two chapters continue Mizuki and co.’s trip to the beach and all of them going to a festival. It’s silly and libido-driven, but I’m really glad it finally started updating again. It’s been driving me crazy.
Ansatsu Kyoushitsu (Assassination Classroom) by Yusei Matsui (2012 – ongoing) ch. 167 – In this chapter, the kids prepare to bust out and go help Koro-sensei – only the professional soldiers know about it.
Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars!/Soma’s Cooking Battles) by Yuto Tsukuda (2012 – ongoing) ch. 147 – The judges finally succumb to Soma’s amazing cooking and his unconventional skills. He handily beats Eizan.
One Piece by Oda Eiichiro (1997 – ongoing) ch. 360 — 394 – Finally, everyone leaves Water Seven and goes to Enies Lobby, the World Government’s base. Characteristically, the Straw Hat Pirates go in half-cocked and destroy everything. It’s actually really good, and I’m enjoying myself immensely.
